Nazinga Game Reserve (Ranch de Gibier de Nazinga)

  • The Nazinga Game Reserve (Ranch de Gibier de Nazinga) in southern Burkina Faso is a vital wildlife area known for its significant elephant and buffalo populations, offering both conservation and tourism, with activities like game drives to see diverse animals (antelopes, monkeys, birds) and rustic lodge stays, especially popular during the dry season (Feb-March) when animals congregate at waterholes near the camp. It features unique management, blending strict protection zones with areas for controlled sport hunting, and provides a less crowded, authentic African safari experience, though amenities are basic, requiring visitors to bring supplies. Located in southern Burkina Faso, near the Ghana border, about a 3.5-5 hour drive south of Ouagadougou. For a genuine, less commercialized wildlife experience.
